- Basic Customer Service (2 Weeks)
Prerequisite: Employment Foundations Certificate or equivalent workplace and computer experience.
This certificate will prepare students to work in any office environment. With a strong emphasis on computer skills and customer service. The students will be well suited to work with both internal and external clients in the workplace.
The Level 2 Computer Essentials Course is for people who have a familiarity with Microsoft Office and can create basic documents. Participants will expand on the basic functions learned in Level 1 while further developing their problem-solving skills. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook will be explored while discussing consistency, professionalism, and best practices. Students will also have a chance to explore the advanced features of Windows 10 including the creation and use of virtual desktops.
Office 365 and Advanced Microsoft Office is for people who are preparing to reenter the workforce and have taken Level 2 or need a refresher of the latest software updates. In addition to learning to navigate One Drive and the collaborative environment of Office 365, students will learn the most advanced features in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Students will also discuss digital transformation, best practice processes for collaboration, all while exploring some of the many apps that come with Office 365.
This Basic Customer Service will introduce students to the fundamentals of customer service while also creating a foundation for the multi-channel nature of today's customer interactions. Learners will be introduced to the foundational concepts of customer service while learning to apply them using chat software like Tawk.com. Students will explore business writing techniques and working with both internal and external clients via phone, in-person and via email.
